Abstract

This paper analyses the organisation and functioning system of the new Public Procurement Court of the Autonomous Region of Madrid, which was created as a result of the changes introduced in August 2010 with regard to public procurement reviews, following the amendment of the Law on Public Sector Contracts. Under this amendment, the autonomous regions are required to adopt their own dispute-settlement model for public procurement matters and choose between a restrictive or a broad model that includes local councils and statutory bodies. The model of the Autonomous Region of Madrid is a broad model, which includes local councils and enables all public procurement reviews to be heard in this jurisdiction.
